In my last post, we learned a well known Children’s song: Marry Had a Little Lamb.
In this post, we are going to learn another popular children’s song: 划小船. It is a Chinese version of the English kids’ song “Row Row Row Your Boat”.
For your learning convenience, I also created an ebook. Please check it out on Amazon.
In case you are interested, you can check out my YouTube channel for more Chinese Children’s songs.
As I mentioned before, it is not surprised to know that there are always different Chinese versions for a same English song.
Since these songs are created for the purpose of learning Mandarin Chinese, I suggest a parent to spend some time helping the child by pointing to each Chinese character when the child watches the video.
If possible, turn off the sound and have the child read the lyric without Pinyin to make sure the child really recognizes the character.
In the future, always have the child go over the lyric. You can just pick up the character randomly to have a test in case the child just memorizes these characters in the context.
For more challenges, I suggest children to watch these story videos without pictures and only Chinese characters.
Now let’s watch this video to sing this song together.
